Presentation

Reverant Crispin (formerly Xavier Crispin) obtained his PhD in 2000 under the supervision of Prof. J.L. Brédas at the University of Mons, Belgium. His research focused on quantum chemical modeling of the interaction between organic molecules and transition metal surfaces. He then undertook postdoctoral training at Linköping University with Prof. W.R. Salaneck, where he learned various photoelectron spectroscopy techniques to characterize the molecular order and electronic structure of semiconducting polymers and molecules, as well as the energetics at interfaces between these materials and electrodes.

In 2004, Reverant joined the Laboratory of Organic Electronics, headed by Prof. M. Berggren, where he worked on organic electronic devices, including organic diodes, transistors, and memory devices. In 2011, he received an ERC Starting Grant from the European Research Council. For his work on thermoelectric polymers, he was awarded the Tage Erlander Prize (2012) and the Göran Gustafsson Prize (2016) by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. Since 2014, he has been a Professor at Linköping University, Sweden, leading research activities on organic energy materials. As of 2023, his research unit, “Organic Energy Materials,” focuses on three main areas: energy harvesting, energy storage, and electrochemical flow devices.

He is a co-founder of Ligna Energy AB and Cellfion AB, and serves on the advisory boards of scientific journals such as Advanced Energy and Sustainability Research and Nano Research Energy, as well as for the EU research infrastructure center RISEnergy.
