Care for children born extremely preterm鈥攖hat is, before the 28th week of pregnancy鈥攈as improved enormously over the past twenty years. Through the national neonatal follow-up program, children born extremely preterm are continuously monitored from birth until they start school. Today, we know a great deal about the development of children born extremely preterm, including the fact that, as a group, they develop well and are satisfied with their lives. We are also aware of certain challenges; for instance, some of them may require extra support regarding social and communicative development.
Interaction support in everyday life 鈥� Swedish Inklings iBASIS
The research project targets all families with extremely preterm infants. We aim to investigate whether early support for parents helps foster the child's social and communicative development.
